Melopsittacus undulatus Hi-C-based physical map

Physical maps are useful for top-level assembly of genomes, enabling genomic scaffolds to be assigned to specific chromosomes. They are traditionally constructed from bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries, but an alternative is to estimate pairwise distances between genomic loci from chromatin conformation capture (Hi-C) data. This project involves collection of Hi-C data from budgerigar erythrocytes for the purpose of constructing a physical map.
