A large number of viruses can be detected in sewage waters, this viral diversity reflecting what is circulating in the local population. Metagenomic sequencing by describing all nucleic acids present in a sample may be a useful approach to appreciate genomic diversity undetectable by medical doctors. Aims: To compare the viral diversity in samples collected over a 12 years period, by optimizing a method allowing to characterize complete viral genomes.
