Microbial communities of migrated Larus ridibundus Metagenome

Every winter flocks of Larus ridibundus migrate from Siberia to Southern China to overwinter. Since the 1980s, every year from Nov to Mar, tens of thousands L. ridibundus fly to Kunming to overwinter. Each year, many visitors come to watch and feed them on city lakes or rivers; and thus the public are in close contact with this bird. At present, there is no relative data of microbial communities for Larus ridibundus reported yet. Therefore, this study is trying to find the metagenomics of this wild bird.
