CAIR Project: Population Survey on health-related quality of life, critical health literacy, social capital, community capital and Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of antibiotics use in Elche, Spain (2025): Pre-cocreation Dataset and Codebook

PROJECT OVERVIEW: This repository contains an anonymized pre-cocreation database and all the supplementary documentation necessary for its correct interpretation, replication, and analysis from a population-based cross-sectional survey conducted in Municipal District 2 of Elche (Spain) between October 21 and November 20, 2025. The survey is part of the CAIR public health research project aimed at examining population health and health system functioning in three priority areas: psychological well-being, cardiovascular health, and the rational use of antibiotics. A total of 602 face-to-face interviews were conducted between October and November 2025 with adult residents (≥18 years), selected using a multistage stratified random sampling design with stratification by sex and age group to ensure representativeness. Interviews were conducted at participants’ homes by trained interviewers after obtaining written informed consent. The dataset includes sociodemographic variables and indicators related to health-related quality of life, critical health literacy, social capital, community capital and knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) on antibiotic use. Data is provided in coded format together with a detailed codebook to facilitate interpretation and reuse. Note: This dataset represents the initial survey conducted prior to the co-creation phase of the project. A follow-up survey will be carried out after the co-creation activities. DATA DOCUMENTATION AND FILE STRUCTURE: To promote accessibility, long-term preservation, and data reuse (complying with FAIR principles), files are provided in multiple formats, separating machine-readable versions from human-readable optimized versions.
