We provide a dataset consisting of 3D microstructures computed with the open-source code Stochastic Parallel PARticle Kinetic Simulator (SPPARKS) available at https://spparks.github.io/. SPPARKS allows additive manufacturing simulations via a Potts-modified kinetic Monte Carlo (kMC) approach. Further information can be found from Rodgers et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.commatsci.2017.03.053). The attached image "table.png" shows the parameter values for the selection of 960 parameter combinations. These parameters serve as input for the simulation. The folder "input" contains a CSV file with the used process parameters for each of the 960 simulations. The dataset consists of 960 files in (i) VTK format readable with compatible visualizers e.g. ParaView. (ii) files in MAT format represent extracted chord length distributions from each VTK file calculated with customized code in MATLAB. "dataset_NDoE_main_1_new.csv" represents the tabular dataset from 960 CLD calculations in X, Y and Z direction structured in rows per microstructure. <br> <br>
