资源简介:
In August 2003, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted a cultural resources survey of
the 70 acre Hoopstick Island Tract, located on Johns Island, Charleston County, South Carolina. This
survey included a background review and the systematic excavation of shovel tests at 50 and 100
foot intervals across the upland portions of the project tract. A dirt causeway on the tract was
visually inspected. The cultural resources survey was undertaken to provide information concerning
the kinds of cultural resources present on the tract and how these resources may be affected by future
use of the tract. This cultural resources survey was conducted in compliance with current state and
federal regulations concerning the management of cultural resources in the coastal zone of South
Carolina as administered by the regulatory programs of the US Army Corps of Engineers (33CRF
Part 325) and the South Carolina Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (15 CFR 930).
