An ecological analysis of asthma health outcomes in Malaysia: a feasibility study

Data was collected to test the feasibility of using the ecosystem-enriched Drivers, Pressures, State, Exposure, Effects, and Actions (eDPSEEA) conceptual framework in Malaysia. In addition, to pilot eDPSEEA in the context of the influence of environmental pollution, haze on asthma events between 2014 and 2017 to determine the rate of asthma events, emergency visits for nebuliser use, and hospital admissions during haze and non-haze episodes; the correlation between Air Pollution Index (API) levels and asthma events; and the timeline of the impact of haze on asthma exacerbation.
