A color postcard titled "Spanish Dance: Act 2, Mission Play, San Gabriel, California." Shown are six persons, three male and three female, playing music and dancing. From left is a seated male guitarist, a seated female guitarist, a female dancer with a tambourine, two male dancers, and a female dancer with a tambourine. The men wear burgundy colored outfits with knee-length breeches, vests, waist sashes, white shirts, and black caps. The women wear vests, blouses, and skirts of different colors with black heeled shoes. In the background are walls with arches, indicating some type of mission building. The Mission Play was written by John Steven McGroarty and was produced from 1912 until the late 1930s in San Gabriel. The card, published by the Detroit Publishing Company and purchased from Inland Empire Postcards, is in good condition with discoloration and very minor edge wear.
