资源简介:
The disposal of coal fines is a significant environmental concern. These fines can be agglomerated into alternative solid fuels for household use to address this issue. To evaluate their potential for household use, it is crucial to characterize their thermal conversion. Micro-CT was used to quantify the structural changes induced by pyrolysis on five variants of coal pellets, including pellets bound with 2.5 and 5 wt% of PVA binder, with and without a waterproofing agent, as well as binder-less pellets. The variants were compared to D-grade coarse coal. The effect of the binder and waterproofing agent on the coal pellets' porosity, tortuosity, and permeability was analyzed using VGL studio max software. The raw data from the analysis consists of the maximum void specified during porosity analysis, the defects volume and the region volume used to calculate porosity, the parameters from the permeability analysis including tortuosity, total pressure and void fraction, lastly, the Micro-CT scan images of the defects during analysis.
