NRS-19815 | Register of Surgical Operations - Gastroenterology [Lidcombe Hospital / Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital]

Public hospitals and other health institutions were required to maintain a Register of Surgical Operations. (1) This series contains registers of operations carried out by the Gastroenterology Unit at Lidcombe Hospital.On 5 March 1992, Bankstown and Lidcombe Hospitals merged to form the Bankstown-Lidcombe group hospital and services were rationalised between the two campuses. During the period the hospital operated over the two locations, separate registers continued to be maintained and were labelled accordingly.The information recorded in these registers includes the following: date of the operation; designated theatre; serial number; patient name, age and medical record number; ward; anaesthetic; anaesthetist; theatre sister in attendance; nature of the surgical procedure; total time; surgeon's name; assistants present, and remarks.Endnote1.
