Particulate organic carbon, microbial activities and abundance from sediment incubation aboard R/V Endeavor cruise EN527 from 2013-06-20 to 2013-06-30

This dataset contains results from laboratory incubation of sediment resuspensions and the effects of organic matter transport and microbial metabolism in bottom waters collected from 7 sites during R/V Endeavor cruise EN527 from 2013-06-20 to 2013-06-30. Sediment cores were taken with a multi corer and experimentally resuspended in an onboard erosion chamber shortly after sampling. Following erosion experiments, the water overlying the sediment cores was filled into acrylic tanks and incubated on a roller table to simulate mildly turbulent conditions in bottom waters. The dataset contains measurements of potential enzyme activities, bacterial cell counts, and concentrations of particulate organic carbon and nitrogen.
