The MitoPark mouse is a genetic model for Parkinson’s disease (PD) that replicates the progressive development of the key symptoms. GI disturbances is an important non-motor symptom which in this model is yet to be explored extensively. This study characterizes GI motility, gut-microbiome dysbiosis, intestinal inflammation and metabolic profile using neurochemical, genomic and metabolomic approaches.
