Three heating tests at varying heating rates spanning two orders of magnitude were conducted on one individual granite sample containing a sawcut fracture. The first data files (.xlsx) recorded evolution of the vertical stress (i.e., the maximum principal stress), shear and normal displacements, heater temperature, and AE hit amplitudes during the heating. In the second file, evolution of vertical stress and shear displacement in the three tests are compared to show different nucleation processes and slip patterns caused by different heating rates. The stress drop in each large stick-slip event, together with its corresponding slip displacement and the peak slip rate in the three tests are listed in the third excel file.
