资源简介:
This is part of the San Xavier Farm Rehabilitation Project. Additional entries related to this project can be found at the following link: https://core.tdar.org/collection/27482 The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) assisted the Tohono O’odham Nation’s (Nation) San Xavier District’s (District) Farm Cooperative (CoOp) in developing some 1,400 acres of new farm land along both sides of Interstate 19 south of the existing CoOp farm fields. This project was in accordance with the provisions of the 2004 Southern Arizona Water Rights Settlement Act (SAWRSA). The farm extension involved mostly undeveloped allotted desert land that has numerous large prehistoric sites in and around the planned fields. Because the project was federally funded and occurred on Indian allotted lands, it was subject to compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as amended, and with various ordinances of the District and Nation. Therefore, prior to any ground-disturbing work associated with the project, a cultural resource assessment had to be performed to document the presence, condition, and eligibility of sites that occurred within the project area. These photos were taken during the survey. The final report for the survey can be found at tDAR ID: 393804
