Code and Source Data for "Opportunities for smarter choices of climate-smart agricultural practices in US corn-soybean systems"

This is a dataset of code and source data for the study “Opportunities for smarter choices of climate-smart agricultural practices in US corn-soybean systems,” currently under review at Nature Communications (NCOMMS-23-34685). Code_v1.zip contains the code used for data processing and analysis, MetaForest model development, cost-benefit analysis, and result visualization. Source_data_v1.zip contains the raw data from the meta-analysis observations and DayCent simulations, complementary datasets used as inputs for data processing, modeling, and cost-benefit analysis, and the resulting data outputs from these analyses. Please refer to README.md for detailed instructions on the organization and use of the code and data files. Software and packages: The MetaForest models were developed using the metaforest R package (version 0.1.4.8) in RStudio (version 1.2.5019). Python (version 3.13.2) was used for data processing, cost–benefit analysis, and result visualization. SALib (version 1.4.8) was used to conduct Sobol sensitivity analysis with Saltelli sampling.
