LiDi 1.0 project - Transcription of Volume 15 book XVII of Pirro Ligorio's Enciclopedia delle Antichità.

This repository provides the transcription of Pirro Ligorio’s Enciclopedia delle Antichità, volume 15, book XVII. The original manuscripts are preserved in the Turin State Archive (Segnatura J.a.II.2) All of the documents were transcribed automatically using the Transkribus software. Available formats PDF with images (unclear words highlighted in yellow); DOCX with unclear words in angle brackets; Page XML; TEI genetared with Page2tei. Note on transcription: Folios 1r–100r: prepared as ground truth for HTR model training. Folios 100v–224r: automatically transcribed with the Ligorio 0.3 HTR model (no longer available due to discontinuation of the CITlab engine in Transkribus). Folios 104r–107v, 122r, 123v–124r, 160r–162v: corrected after automatic transcription, following the same criteria used for ground truth. Folios containing only page numbers or minimal text were transcribed manually. The HTR model “Italian 16th-century antiquarian hand – Ligorio 0.3” remains publicly available to all registered Transkribus users.
