The accuracy of one to five Kato-Katz thick smears for detecting S. mansoni infection with prevalence reported for diagnosis using six Kato-Katz thick smears as the ‘gold standard’. There were 11 time-points where children were sampled over three years, from the complete dataset of children who each had six Kato-Katz thick smear readings (n = 1065). 95% confidence intervals are shown in parentheses.
