To comprehensively investigate the regulatory mechanisms of glucagon in glucose metabolism in Japanese flounder, liver samples were collected at 0 h (before injection), 1 h, and 6 h after glucagon injection and subjected to high-throughput transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq). This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the hormonal regulatory network of glucose metabolism in carnivorous fish and provides a theoretical basis as well as potential molecular targets for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying glucose intolerance and improving dietary carbohydrate utilization efficiency in carnivorous fish.
