Shotgun metagenomic sequencing of gut microbiota in a rat model of visceral hypersensitivity

This project describes shotgun metagenomic sequencing of gut microbiota from a rat model of visceral hypersensitivity. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were used to establish a visceral hypersensitivity model induced by intracolonic acetic acid administration. Colon tissue samples were collected and microbial DNA was extracted for metagenomic library preparation. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina NovaSeq platform to characterize gut microbial composition and functional potential associated with visceral hypersensitivity.
