资源简介:
This dataset comprises fully anonymised, 7-day daily-diary data from 168 adult, native-English UK residents recruited via Prolific; all participants reported suicidal ideation or a suicide attempt within the prior 24 months.Time frame and design: Background measures—including demographics and retrospective childhood-trauma exposure—were collected on 4 August 2025 (Day 0). The same participants then completed a 7-day diary protocol from 5–11 August 2025 (Days 1–7), with twice-daily surveys. The morning survey (08:00–13:00) assessed previous-night sleep indicators (six items). The evening survey (20:00–02:00) assessed daily hassles and suicide-risk indicators.Variables collected at Morning Survey:Subjective sleep quality :Higher scores indicate worse subjective sleep quality.Total sleep duration and sleep-onset latencyMorning tiredness :Higher scores reflected greater levels of morning tiredness.Pre-sleep arousal : Higher scores reflected greater levels of pre-sleep arousal.Variables collected at Evening Survey:Daily Stressor Appraisal Scale : from 1 (Not at all) to 7 (To a very much large extent). The level of primary appraisal is determined by calculating the average value of five specific items (items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). The level of secondary appraisal is determined by calculating the average value of the remaining three items (items 6, 7, and 8). The appraisal ratio is calculated by dividing the primary appraisal score by the secondary appraisal score. A higher appraisal ratio indicates that perceived demands exceed perceived resources.Perceived stress : PSS-4Defeat: Higher total score of these four items indicated greater feelings of defeat.Entrapment : Higher total score of these four items indicated greater feelings of entrapment.Reasons for living: Higher scores indicate a stronger desire to live.Raw item scores and all derived scale totals are provided. A comprehensive codebook—covering variable names, abbreviations, response formats, and scoring procedures—appears in Worksheet 2 of the file. The current datasets was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology, University of Leeds (SoPREC 2976), and the main study hypotheses were preregistered at AsPredicted.org (#240917).
