Genome sequences of Fusarium babinda and Fusarium concolor species complexes. Fusarium

The Fusarium babinda and F. concolor species complexes are sister lineages within the genus Fusarium. Members of these complexes have been isolated from soil and plant debris, but some have also been isolated from insect larvae and human corneal ulcers. Isolation of these fungi from multiple countries, including Australia, China, South Africa, Spain, United States and Uruguay, on multiple continents indicates that they are widespread. The biology of members of the F. babinda and F. concolor species complexes has not been thoroughly investigated. Therefore, we have generated genome sequences for multiple members in order to characterize their secondary metabolite production potential, mating type, and other traits.
