Lichen Volume Modeling in Newfoundland (1984–2022)

This archive contains field measurements, supporting data, and R scripts used to model and map lichen volume across Newfoundland, Canada. The main dataset, lichen_sol_all2.csv, contains plot-level lichen volume measurements used to calibrate vegetation-specific models. An additional dataset, lichen_epiphyte.xlsx, contains tree-level information on species composition and canopy structure collected during field sampling and used to assess the representativeness of sampled plots relative to regional forest conditions. Associated R scripts are included to reproduce model fitting, spatial prediction of lichen volume from Landsat Best Available Pixel (BAP) composites, and time-series analyses of lichen volume patterns from 1984 to 2022.
