Increasing Indigenous communities capacity in natural resource management (NRM) Project

This sub project will focus on increasing the skills, knowledge and capacity of Indigenous communities to be involved in natural resource management activities and projects in the Murrumbidgee region. At the completion of this project, Indigenous communities and organisations will have a greater capacity to plan, coordinate and undertake NRM activities and projects in line with regional NRM plans and management priorities.
Murrumbidgee CMA will support Indigenous communities through the on-going support of the Murrumbidgee Traditional Custodians Group and facilitation of specifically tailored workshops and training days. The wider community will also be more aware about cultural heritage and shared values and be better able to incorporate Indigenous community involvement and traditional ecological knowledge in NRM.
