The experiments ran at O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory aim to explore the parameter-based behavior of the Emerald Tutu mats. Ultimately, the data obtained will be utilized to validate a numerical model. This model could be used to simulate the real-world effects of the Emerald Tutu mats. There is much data on the dissipative effects of submerged vegetation, but little laboratory or field experimentation exists for floating vegetation. The data collected could be used to help fill this knowledge gap, providing a wave height evolution for regular waves subjected to the Emerald Tutu mats. The primary audience for this manuscript would be members of the coastal engineering community or those interested in green solutions to coastal resilience.
