资源简介:
Single pollen samples from ten cores from the Cheyenne River area in South Dakota were
examined in search of evidence that might indicate that these sediments accumulated during the
historic era. Pollen evidence for the historic era includes pollen from plants known to have been
introduced into the western United States during the historic era and are not native to this area.
Examples include common weeds such as Erodium cicutarium (cranesbill), Cirsium (Russian
thistle), Trifolium repens-type (white clover), Trifolium pratense-type (red clover), and Elaeagnus
(Russian olive).
