Elevated temperature has caused great impacts on plant growth and development. However, how long-term high temperature influences the accumulation of novel variations in plants remain unknown. To address this question, we combined long-term MA experiments of lines and populations with deep whole-genome sequencing to determine the genome-wide mutation rates and profiles in A. thaliana grown under heat, warming and control for 10-22 successive generations, respectively.
