The double edged sword of deliberation

The dataset contains variables that were used to describe the relationship between exposure to factual versus non-factual user comments on participation intentions on participation intentions through social comparison with other commenters as well as perceived and actual knowledge. To investigate the relationship, an online survey was conducted with 368 participants. Thus, with the dataset, we want to share the values for 368 participants for the variables experimental manipulation (exposure to comments with a high or low level of facts), participation intentions, social comparison with other commenters, perceived knowledge and actual knowledge.
