Marine Protected Areas under the Marine Management Act

This polygon feature class contains the boundaries of the Fiordland and Kaikōura Marine Areas. The Marine Management Act areas are defined within Schedule 1 of the Kaikōura (Te Tai o Marokura) Marine Management Act 2014 and Schedule 2 of the Fiordland (Te Moana o Atawhenua) Marine Management Act 2005. The Kaikōura and Fiordland Marine Areas combined with the amateur Fishery Management Areas (FMA's) make up New Zealand's 7 recreational fishing areas.
