This polygon feature class contains the boundaries of the Fiordland and Kaikōura Marine Areas.
The Marine Management Act areas are defined within Schedule 1 of the Kaikōura (Te Tai o Marokura) Marine Management Act 2014 and Schedule 2 of the Fiordland (Te Moana o Atawhenua) Marine Management Act 2005.
The Kaikōura and Fiordland Marine Areas combined with the amateur Fishery Management Areas (FMA's) make up New Zealand's 7 recreational fishing areas.
