Replication Data for: AI vs. Human Creativity in Lyric Writing A Comparative Analysis of ChatGPT-4o and Mariah Carey

This study relies on two ways of quantitative and qualitative analysis to study the lyrics of Carey's ten most popular original songs. The language features, emotional depth and rhetorical skills in the lyrics are evaluated. The results showed that while the AI-generated lyrics showed greater lexical diversity and fluency in reading, they lacked emotional complexity, thematic consistency and rhetorical complexity compared with Carey's work, The study also highlights the dangers of AI replicating the personalization, autobiographical and emotional storytelling that characterizes human songwriting. This research helps us understand the potential and limitations of artificial intelligence in the creative field, and also provides some insight into the future development of AI-assisted songwriting in the music industry.
