The role of victims-survivors in IPV desistance pathways

This dataset comprises semi-structured, in-depth interviews conducted with 40 female-identifying participants who self-identified being subjected to intimate partner violence by a current or former male partner. The purpose of the interviews was to understand and describe the strategies utilised by victim-survivors to support the desistance of their partners' abusive behaviours, and to ensure their own safety. This included strategies utilised prior to and after separating from their partner. Participants were also asked to reflect on the strategies that they believed were and were not 'effective' in bringing about a change in their partners use of abusive behaviours.
