Veterinary monitoring of antimicrobial resistance

This project aims to perform whole genome sequencing of multidrug-resistant bacterial isolates included in the veterinary antimicrobial resistance monitoring program in Russia. For the study, bacterial isolates isolated from productive animals, food raw materials, food products, and environmental objects were selected. Monitoring antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among zoonotic bacteria is an important part of food chain safety surveillance. Some of the multidrug-resistant isolates were deposited in the All-Russian State Collection of Microorganism Strains Used in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry (Roselkhoznadzor).
