NRS-25 | Particulars of Aboriginal Stations and Reserves

The booklet in this series gives particulars of aboriginal stations and reserves including: area; distance to nearest town, doctor, hospital and school; population (including the number of Full Bloods, Half Castes and Lesser Castes [editorial note: this is the language used in the records]); buildings (number of staff residences, number of buildings in good condition); amount of rent paid; electricity supply (indicates if electricity is connected to the staff residence, administrative buildings and Aborigines cottages, and the voltage); water supply (indicates if hot water is available and if so the nature of its heating); and the type of sanitation system.The booklets also indicate if the following exist on the Station or Reserve: fencing; roads; cultivation; livestock; social activity (social club, parents and citizens, Progress Association, Aboriginal Church); education (number of children attending Public and High Schools); number of children attending Aboriginal School, pre-school class and adult education class. The records in this series were transferred to the Archives Office by the Aborigines Services Branch of the Department of Youth and Community Services in 1977.
