DART: Detection of Antimicrobial Resistance Toolbox

Antimicrobial resistance is an ongoing public health threat, accounting for over 35,000 deaths annually in the U.S. alone. Environmental microbial communities can serve as reservoirs for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes. The genomic surveillance of these genes could both inform and enhance the way that we address the challenge of rampant antimicrobial resistance. DART is a tool capable of rapidly detecting AMR genes that is both cost-effective and reduces the time-to-answer.
