Allodiploid hybrid species Aspergillus latus

An allodiploid hybrid species Aspergillus latus belonging to Aspergillus section Nidulantes is a causal agent for aspergillosis. Since A. latus has been frequently misidentified as A. nidulans, A. spinulosporus, or other cryptic species, it is considered that A. latus infections are likely underreported. In this study, we aim to survey the prevalence of A. latus in Japan and develop the identification method.
