In May 2022, 28 environmental water samples were collected from hospital sewage, poultry farm wastewater, cattle farm wastewater, aquaculture pond, and river (upstream and downstream) in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Samples were processed using the WHO ESBL Tricycle protocol. Presumptive resistant E. coli colonies from chromogenic culture media were confirmed through biochemical and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Twenty-six representative resistant E. coli isolates were selected for whole genome sequencing using the Illumina NextSeq500 platform.
