NRS-19785 | Register of staff movements

This series is the Register of staff movements for the Department of Prisons. The register records the appointment, transfer and resignation of prison staff for each gaol during a particular pay period. The volume does not record all staff only those either starting or finishing at a gaol.The volume covering the dates between 1936 and 1947 contain an index to gaols, the volume is arranged by gaol and contains the following information: particulars of appointments, transfers, resignations. This column records the name of the staff member and the details of their movement e.g. transferred to Parramatta Gaol. The subsequent columns record the headings 'On' and 'Off'. These indicate if the staff member has started or finished at the particular gaol. Underneath these headings the staff member's rank is recorded.
