Fecal and skin sample collection from hidradenitis suppurativa and healthy subjects

16S rRNA amplicon sequencing was performed to investigate potential bacterial alterations in the gut of hidradenitis suppurativa patients. Fecal samples (n=37) were collected from patients (n=17) and healthy controls (n=20). In addition, a subset of axillary skin swab samples were obtained from patients (n=6 HS lesions and n=3 paired non-lesions) and healthy controls (n=7 healthy skin).
