Dataset for "Road to sustainability with green practices: a look at SMEs in the textile-fashion industry in Spain"

This dataset contains the survey data used in the study: Real, J.C., Cepeda-Carrión, I., & Pérez-Bou, S. (2025). "Road to sustainability with green practices: a look at SMEs in the textile-fashion industry in Spain", European Business Review, 37(6), 1040–1072. The dataset includes responses from 161 Spanish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the textile and fashion industry, collected through a structured questionnaire administered to senior managers responsible for sustainability, operations, supply chain or general management. The survey measures the adoption of internal and external Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices and their impact on sustainable performance across three dimensions: economic, environmental and social. Internal GSCM practices include:- Green production- Green logistics- Internal environmental management- Eco-design- Green packaging External GSCM practices include:- Green purchasing- Reverse logistics- Environmental collaboration with suppliers and customers Sustainable performance is operationalized through:- Economic performance- Environmental performance- Social performance The dataset also contains control variables related to firm size, firm age and industry sector (NACE codes). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The dataset allows replication of the empirical results reported in the article and can be used for further research on green supply chain management, sustainability performance, and SMEs in the textile and fashion sector. All variables are coded following the measurement scales reported in the article and its appendices. No personally identifiable information is included.
