Marine microbes including bacteria and viruses are the most abundant organisms on the planet and play vital roles in the biogeochemical cycle in marine environments. Marine microbes also exist in diverse environments extending from equatorial to polar seas. In this cruise, abundances of pelagic bacteria and viruses were investigated at 18 stations in the Amundsen Sea, 2013/14.
