Polymixin (PM) and curcumin (CU) favorably modulates serum LPS levels and macrophage influx in the kidney of the 5/6 nephrectomized animals on western diet (Nx+WD).

The macrophage markers CD68 and SR-1 were quantitated by qPCR as described in the method. Polymyxin was given in drinking water (Nx+WD+PM) and the data compared with Nx+WD cohort. Freshly prepared curcumin was given daily by gavage to nephrectomized animals on western diet (Nx+WD+CU) and the results are compared with its control, nephrectomized animals on western diet gavaged daily with vehicle (Nx+WD+Gav).
