Dataset of the large branchiopods (Branchiopoda: Anostraca, Notostraca, Laevicaudata, Spinicaudata, Cyclestherida) of India

Large branchiopods are an ancient group of crustacean invertebrates known for their role as 'flagship' species in temporary habitats. With records of only 10% of the total world fauna in India, further studies are needed. We obtained 581 primary and secondary records from India, with 13 families, 15 genera, and 46 valid species from all five orders (Anostraca, Notostraca, Laevicaudata, Spinicaudata, and Cyclestherida). Every record has a valid scientific name, location name, coordinate data, year of collection, water body type, and other important information. We present data from our own collection as well as secondary data from 1859 onwards.
