Replication Data for: Complete coding sequence of varicella-zoster virus (human herpesvirus 3) obtained by metagenomics from a patient presenting with an exanthem rash

This is a replication dataset for the manuscript titled: "Complete coding sequence of varicella-zoster virus (human herpesvirus 3) obtained by metagenomics from a patient presenting with an exanthem rash." Pox viruses, such as Monkeypox, present with an exanthem rash that may be difficult for clinicians to distinguish from other diseases that present similar symptoms. Unbiased sequencing approaches, such as the use of metagenomics, can rapidly distinguish these infections. Here, we use metagenomics to show the presence of varicella zoster virus clade 5 for a patient presenting with an exanthem rash who had raised suspicion of an Mpox infection.
