Adjusted mean weekday levels of physical activity by mode of transport to school (i) on weekdays, (ii) between 8 to 9 am and 3 to 5 pm on weekdays, (iii) on weekdays excluding periods of active travel.

Mean differences compare level of physical activity in children who travel by public transport or car, to those who walk or cycle to and from school.Analyses are adjusted for gender, age quartiles, day order, day of week, month, ethnicity and random effects for child and school.Due to rounding and adjustment for other factors the numbers in parts (ii) and (iii) do not add up exactly to equal part (i).MVPA = moderate to vigorous physical activity.
