The Geospatial Data Act of 2018 (GDA) serves as the Federal foundation for geospatial data management and sharing with the public. The GDA defines geospatial data as information tied to a location on Earth, including geographic location identifiers and characteristics of natural or constructed features and boundaries. This is important for HHS work with disasters, emergencies, preparedness, and responses that necessitate quality data like remote sensing, land surveying, or mapping.
