VPRS 14756 General Correspondence Files, Alpha-Numeric System

This series comprises correspondence files maintained by the Inverloch Sewerage Authority (VA1991) and the Inverloch Waterworks Trust (VA2105). These two bodies operated from one location sharing one registry.It appears that alpha-numeric system of files classification commenced around 1975. All previous files were top-numbered and placed in volumes - these form the P1 consignment of this series. A number of files in this consignment contain attachments received after closing of the relevant files.The P2 consignment consists of later correspondence maintained in separate file folders. Some of the files have alpha suffix W or S - presumably to identify files controlled by either the Inverloch Waterworks Trust (W suffix) or the Inverloch Sewerage Authority (S suffix).
