The metagenomic strategy is applied to sequence the coextracted DNA of the planktonic organisms from water samples across the Pacific ocean. Water samples were collected near island, at the reef surface and surrounding the coral. They were filtered to obtain different size fractions : S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm for coral surrounding water; S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm, S>20µm for surface water and S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm, S>20µm, S>300µm for near island water.
