All of Norway is covered by Forest monitoring plots in a 3 x 3 km grid, used to assess the growth and development of forests in Norway. From about 63 of the survey plots, eight replicate soil samples were obtained and sequenced for rDNA 18S V4 metabarcoding. One main aim in this project was to assess the effect of forestry and forest age, as well as other co-factors, on the soil biota.
