NRS-10776 | Department of Navigation registers of steamship certificates

This series consists of registers of steamship certificates produced by the New South Wales Department of Navigation. The series consists of two volumes. One volume records the issue of certificates to steamships in New South Wales while the other records the renewal of certifcates issued to steamships in New South Wales.Each register contains a printed table recording details such as: the name of vessel; number of certificate issued or renewed; payment; receipt number; registered tonnage; nature of certificate; name of master and number of his certificate; number of passengers and crew the vessel carries according to the class of vessel; details of boats and life-saving equipment on board; date of issue or date of expiry of certificate; and the date of expiry of the extension of the certificate.The register printed to record the issue of certificates has not been used while the register of renewal has been filled in by hand in ink. The entries are in chronological order.
