"Semantic search utilizes natural language processing to interpret the meaning of words, phrases, and sentences, bridging the gap between user intent and retrieved information. Its contribution to knowledge retrieval is considerable, particularly in enhancing accuracy and relevance, providing a human-like interaction with information. As large language models continuously evolve, the importance of semantic search is further highlighted, with its capabilities to interpret nuanced human language and deliver precise output seamlessly aligning with these advancements. This paper underscores the current state of semantic search research and its potential growth avenues through an in-depth literature analysis of 1,571 articles. Using Latent Dirichlet Allocation, ten key topics and nine future research questions are uncovered that pave the way for future scholarly inquiries. Furthermore, the study outlines a strategic framework, equipping researchers and professionals with insights to navigate and address practical challenges effectively."
