Cladosporium oxysporum strain:A3.I.1 Genome sequencing and assembly

Cladosporium oxysporum strain A3.I.1 is a fungus with polyurethane biodegradative capacity. Polyurethane (PU) is a widely used plastic that generates environmental pollution problems because it is mainly landfilled and shows high recalcitrance, especially the polyether PU type. Cladosporium oxysporum A3.I.1 was isolated from a dark spot growing on a polyurethane wall from a cold room. A chip of the dark spot was inoculated in a mineral medium with Impranil, a polyester (PS)-PU coating as the only carbon source and was restreaked up to having an axenic culture. Cladosporium oxysporum A3.I.1 is also able to attack polyether-polyuretane foams. Sequencing of the Cladosporium oxysporum A3.I.1 genome is fundamental for the identification of proteins involved in PU biodegradation.
